Japanofiles Only!

Tokyo Ghoul Cookies for the teens.

Painted Cakes

I thought I'd give this a try. Using saturated food colouring and paint brushes, you can paint images on cakes.

Flowers for my friend Theresa and for that coffee lover, Jen gets a steamy cuppa.

bAcoN CoKkiEs

Bacon is all the rage right now! So why not make some vegetarian bacon cookies!
These are sugar cookies. I just cut of the squiggly shape with a knife as I had no cookie cutter shaped like this. I used white butter icing and to add the red/pink colors I just dropped some food coloring into a small plate of icing. I grabbed a teeny bit ion the edge of a knife and then smeared it across the white icing. Keep the red near 1 edge and smear towards the middle.

Valentine's Day Cookies

Sugar cookies decorated with butter icing and royal icing.
Nothing fancy, but together they look yummy!

A Scientist's Cake!

My son wanted a science birthday party. For his cake, I made this is an Erlenmeyer flask filled with green chemicals and red bubbles.  I used white butter icing to cover the entire cake. Then dyed some grean and put a thin layer over the white. I used candy apple candy for the bits floating in the green goo, and covered some red candy in green icing to make the explosion and cotton candy for smoke. Sparklers were used instead of candles.

A Firefighter's Cake!

A red fire hose with silver coupling for a fire fighter. It is a chocolate cake and I used rice crispies to make the coupling. Don't forget to use the no-taste red food colouring. I used butter icing and shaped the top of the cake with a template I made out of thin cardboard. I decided to accentuate the grooves and add details with black royal icing.
